From July 21st to 28th, 2019 a delegation of 12 faculty and students from Xiamen University, called Haisi Youth, visited the Philippines to further broaden their international vision, and to introduce Chinese culture and support the “One Belt, One Road” initiative through the Sino-Philippines youth dialogue. Chinese teaching activities and corporate research were also carried out.
SMXMU’s delegation conducted in-depth Q&A and interactive interviews with faculty and students of the University of the Philippines. In addition to discussing topics such as academia, history, development and the future, they also enjoyed social activities in order to encourage engagement and enhance friendship and cooperation.
With the help of the Confucius Institute at the University of the Philippines, 10 of SMXMU students gave two wonderful Chinese language teaching courses to 70 undergraduate students from the Department of Tourism Management at Makati University.
SMXMU Students who majored in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management Science, and Marketing, took advantage of their professional knowledge and carried out joint research on the business environment in the Philippines. Their expectations were that their research would make academic contributions for the progress of ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative and the increased development of Chinese companies in the Philippines.
