Meanwhile, the team of Empowering Teaching Excellence will work closely with the professor to design a unique and personalised learning experience for everyone involved.
(1)Design of Open Programmes
Open programmes target individual learners or a small group of learners from corporations. Professors are deeply involved with programme course design and programmes are implemented under the supervision of course directors. Programme design process is as follows: understanding the specific situation of corporations – analyzing problems and challenges – defining the role and responsibility of a manager – combining manager’s role model with classic management ideas and latest management practices - confirming a feasible programme learning strategy. For example:
T-star Outstanding Manager Cultivation Programme. By conducting group research on middle-level managers of mature corporations, the programme builds up competence models to promote their competence in cognition, leadership, core management skills and personal work efficiency.
RE-WIN! Entrepreneurship Development Programme. By carrying out group research on entrepreneurs and senior managers of small and medium-sized enterprises, the Programme analyzes their features and objectives, supports their transition, and clarifies their mission and responsibility.
(2)Design of Customised Programmes
Customised programmes target organizations. Programmes are customised specifically to meet customers’ needs. Programme courses are designed with these expectations and rationale:
A benign learning environment is key to promote adults’ learning effectiveness and learning interests in order to maximise learning outcomes;
Theoretical studies are critical to construct the fundamental knowledge structure and cultivate the competence to discern the intrinsic nature of events;
Thinking transformation and promotion of core managers is an essential and effective means to realise strategic goals when a corporation comes to its strategic inflection point;
A customised programme is not a simple combination of courses but an integrative problem-solving plan designed on the basis of in-depth research on corporate real demands. It is a tactical cooperation and organic synergy of a curriculum system, learning strategy and teaching mechanism.
(3)Design Process
Programme cultivation model and scheme are formulated on the basis of the research on corporate strategy, organizational capabilities and talent positions. The design process of customised programmes is as follows:

4) Teaching Content
In line with programme requirements, the Centre assigns the most appropriate faculty members and applies the most suitable cases to each course to ensure that the course fulfills the demands of customers to the greatest extent. Taking Hongshi Financial Management Programme of Holdings Group Co., Ltd. as an example, to help the company achieve its strategic goal of promoting financial management, faculty of finance and accounting collaborated to design several core courses such as Corporate Financial Control, Overall Budget Management, Strategic Cost Management, Internal Control and Risk Management, Tax Planning and Management, Capital Management and Corporate Investment & Financing Decisions, and Financial Performance Management.
5) Learning Methods
Learning activities are designed based on programme cultivation objectives along with the introduction of advanced international management education practices - hybrid learning methods, which include online learning, classic theoretical teaching, scenario simulation & case study, and themed workshops. Leaning methods adopted vary with programmes so as to strengthen customers’ application abilities and fulfill individual’s value in organizations. Senior Management Development Programme of Xiamen Air is a good example: to train senior managers to be the best internal management practitioner, the Programme urges them to conduct corporate project research and develop internal best practice cases through LBA trainings and workshops.
