报告介绍： China has evolved from a marginal player in the international S&T system to a major player in international S&T Affairs.  It has become a preferred site for R&D by many multinational companies.  Moreover, Chinese companies such as Huawei, Baidu and Tencent have come engaged in establishing multiple R&D centers abroad.  In addition, Chinese leaders hope that as Chinese indigenous R&D capabilities improve, China will become as much of a rule maker as a rule taker in the global R&D system.  This talk will highlight these changes in the behavior, posture and positioning of China in the international S&T system and assess the implications for China in the future.
